Music lessons in Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown & Allston.
For adults who want to actually get better, not just get through a book.

Guitar, keyboard, voice, or sax. Same approach either way: theory you'll actually use, writing your own material, and improvising instead of working page by page through a book. Want to record and produce what you write? I can help with that too.
Who this is for
Played when younger and want to actually get good this time (on your schedule, and with music you care about).
Parts and lyrics scattered across voice memos. I bring theory, structure, and gear, so you can actually finish them.
You write in a DAW and want to record, arrange, and produce the songs you're already making.

About the lab

I studied musicology at Lesley University and hold a performance certificate from Berklee, with a background in audio engineering and production. Lessons happen in a real studio (not a spare bedroom) with room to plug in and actually work through material. I teach guitar, keyboard, voice, and sax, and I'd rather you learn to write and improvise than fill in a method book. Outside of lessons, I still play and still write.
Where lessons happen
In-home lessons cover Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, and Allston. Outside that radius, or if you'd rather not host, lessons run in the studio or online. Full rates, makeup policy, and cancellation terms are on the policies page.
